It is made of porcelain, and its weight makes it steady and stable.
Package
The porcelain is made in Hasami, Japan, where one of the foremost pottery producing district with history of more than 400 years. Most process are hand made, each carefully created by experienced craftsman.
Porcelain decreases its mass by 10% and changes its shape when fired in the kiln at 1300℃. The deformation happens much more when a product is heavy in the top, and the result varies depending on the material, how it is fired in the kiln, or the temperature. Therefore, it is very important to design the original mold considering the deformation, plan in very detail. It is a work of experienced craftsmanship.
